EO is here to get your week started with a bang, as we present to you one of our favourite mixes or live sets from the past week. It might not be a new mix, it could be a live set from a few years back, or it could be a mixtape from a few days ago. Either way, it you want an awesome selection of tunes wrapped up in a neat package, this is your place to come.
This week we're celebrating the approach of next week's GlobalGathering festival by featuring not one, but two mixes from two of the artists appearing: Madeon and Knife Party. Head past the jump to read about them and listen.
It always sickens me slightly that Madeon is a year younger than me. It kinda makes me wonder what I'm doing with my life. Anyway, I don't for one minute begrudge him any of the success he's currently having, because he absolutely deserves it. His tracks are always a breath of fresh air in what can be a very stagnant industry, and it would be fair to say that his forthcoming album is one of the mostly hotly anticipated electronic albums on the horizon.

However, if there's one thing I love even more than Madeon's tracks, it's his live sets, which are so creative and perfectly crafted. The songs he chooses to mash together are absolutely inspired, he plays Pop Culture live, and then there's *that* Song 2 remix that always gets dropped.
This is a set from two years ago from Radio 1's big event in Hull. I chose this one for two reasons: 1. It happened in my neck of the woods (though a few months before I moved there... I'm totally not bitter), and 2. It's only 20 minutes long, yet manages to display everything I just talked about, and has more excitement and creativity than most artists can muster up in two hours.
Listen to it below, you absolutely won't be disappointed. It's a shame Pete Tong won't shut up, but then he never does...
Knife Party tend to offer a more conventional set, but no less great. They deftly weave their own tracks in and out of carefully selected tracks from other artists, and the duo always pull a massive festival crowd.
They upped the ante last year with their new Haunted House stage production that they toured America with, and they're just now bringing it over here. This set is from just a few weeks ago at EDC Las Vegas, where they totally tore the place up with one of the best live sets I've heard from them in a good while, and where they debuted a tonne of new tunes from their forthcoming album, Abandon Ship. It's a fantastic set, where all genres are accounted for, and it's nice to hear that they're starting to stray back towards their drum & bass roots slightly.
The EDC set should give us a good indication of what to expect from Gareth and Rob at GlobalGathering this weekend, where we might even get some more new tunes. Who knows? We'll just have to wait and see.
Madeon and Knife Party will be playing at this year's GlobalGathering on Friday 25 & Saturday 26 July. To buy tickets, click here, and to find out more about what EO has got planned for its coverage of the festival, click here.
