Aphex Twin surprised the world with details of a new album called Syro a few days ago, revealing not only the name of what'll be his first album in over 13 years, but the tracklist too. If you feared that this would be an enigmatic, drawn out album campaign though, you'll be delighted to hear that we now also have some album artwork AND a release date. It's coming sooner than you probably thought. Find out more, and see the album artwork, below.
Yes, fans of Richard D James' work will be pleased to hear that there's only exactly a month until Syro drops, as you'll be able to get your hands on it on the 22nd of September.
The artwork which has been released bears a resemblance to the webpage that was used to announce the initial details about the new album, and bares the tracklisting, the green sticker featuring Aphex Twin's logo from that page, as well as a list of what appears to be all of the expenses incurred during production of the album.
You can see the artwork below. There's no word on any potential singles or the opportunity to hear tracks before the album lands, but even if none come, there's really not very long to wait until we get to experience what will undoubtedly be, if nothing else, another interesting album from Aphex Twin.
