Clean Bandit - Rather Be (Steve James Remix)

I'm a real sucker for 'banger' remixes. Y'know, the sort where the remix is basically just a cranked up, epic version of the original? Yeah. That. And that's exactly what we've got here, because just when you thought you couldn't take another remix of Clean Bandit's Rather Be, Steve James has gone and given us a proper club-ready remix that's sure to get everyone 'on tha floor'.

Rather Be was released all the way back in January, would you believe, and it's still undoubtedly one of the biggest singles of the year so far. So naturally, it's already been remixed to death - as Steve himself puts it, "everyone and their mother" has done one. But of you can tolerate just one more, then you could do a lot worse than this one.

On the surface, it seems like Steve has barely touched the original, and whilst that may be true - he admits as much himself - just enough has changed to make this a winner.

The biggest addition is a club-ready piano part that underpins the whole thing, and takes the original to new heights. Couple that with a new beat, and "the dopest triangle you’ve ever heard," and what you have is a new edit of Rather Be that hits just a little harder, and has a little more energy.

So have a listen, not much may have changed, but it's a great edit of an already great track. And what's more, it's free. Now you can't argue with that.
