Astronaut are back with a VIP of a track that they gave away for free earlier in the year, Earthsphere. This time they take it in a slightly different direction, making the transition from Dubstep to Electro House.
How does it stack up against the original? Find out below.
Earthsphere was never exactly a sedate track, but here, the new, quicker tempo really lends an extra sense of freneticism to proceedings. It's all a bit more mad and aggressive, and it's all the better for it.
Aside from the tempo change, the beginning is pretty much identical to the original in this new version. However, at the drop, it's all change - the track suddenly explodes into life, there's bass wobbles, lasers, growls, and it all rattles along an almighty pace that the original just seems to lack after hearing this new version.
The highlight for me, though, is the new middle section. The opening melody is expanded upon here. It really is given the Electro treatment, and the whole thing is turned into a series of absolutely massive chords. It's a really satisfying change, and the subtle manipulations of the melody itself are clever and exciting.
It's not very often that a VIP is as good as the original, but in this case, Astronaut have really one-upped themselves with their new version of Earthsphere. It provides an almighty kick up the arse to the original, but ensures that the chafes aren't just limited to the tempo, with numerous new, fresh ideas thrown into the mix.
If you liked the original, you'll love this. Be sure to grab a copy.
