The Monday Mix - Week 6
EO is here to get your week started with a bang, as we present to you one of our favourite mixes or live sets from the past week. It might not be a new mix, it could be a live set from a few years back, or it could be a mixtape from a few days ago. Either way, it you want an awesome selection of tunes wrapped up in a neat package, this is your place to come.
This week, we're featuring two free minimixes from Freemasons, each of one of the discs from their brand new album Shakedown 3. Have a listen above, and read a bit more about them below.
We're currently in the middle of reviewing Freemasons' epic Shakedown 3, their brand new album that is as impressive and varied as it is long - and boy, is it long! We love Freemasons - their brand of disco house never ceases to bring a smile to my face, and they really know how to craft an insanely catchy hook.
But it stands to reason that you, our humble readers, may not have heard of them. Allow us to convince you, then, that their new opus is definitely worth investing your time and money in. Have a listen to the two minimixes that the guys have very kindly offered up for free. The first, 'Poolside', is a mix of the tracks from the first disc of Freemasons' latest collection. It represents a slight change in direction for them, with experimentation with slightly different styles and genres a major focus for the first half. It features a number of tracks produced under their alias Pegasus, which is for more laid-back music. It's a nice change, and certainly provides welcome variety.
The second mix, 'Night', is far more traditional Freemasons fare. It's 15 minutes of banging excerpts from the second disc of Shakedown 3, and features many of the great singles that they've been putting out lately. It's also got some great remixes, something else the duo are particularly well known for. Put on your dancing shoes for this one.
I can think of no better way to get your week started than with a thumping bit of disco house from Freemasons. Have a listen, grab your free downloads, and look out for our review of the full album later this week.
