Over the past few months, Hunter Siegel has ventured further from the remixes with which he began to move into prominence, and has been slowly building up his portfolio of original works. The latest of these has just premiered; Let Me Love You Right is another barnstorming House track from the producer, and is complete with his signature, futuristic twists.
How does this latest effort stand up against past originals, the most notable being Waiting Up, though? Read on to find out.
Let Me Love You Right is certainly the embodiment of the producer's self-proclaimed 'Retro-Future' style. The Italia-style piano and rough hi-hat hits are a real throwback to the golden age of House music, with the bass at the drop bringing the track firmly into modern territory. It hits hard, and the track scarcely lets up for the 3 minutes it has your attention for. Being a bit of a music nerd, I also find the main chord progression extremely satisfying - it's a great hook, sure to keep you coming back for more.
Kai's vocals add another dimension to Let Me Love You Right, and elevate it above generic House territory. They're sultry, slick and compliment proceedings perfectly, and the way they're cut up before the drop is a really nice touch.
It might not be as instantly infectious as Waiting Up, but Let Me Love You Right is, at its heart, just as skilfully crafted, and has certainly been given the same care and attention. In a relatively short space of time, Hunter Siegel has become a force to be reckoned with within House music, and this latest track just cements that status further. You can pick it up now on iTunes.
